Home Surge Protection
What is Whole Home Surge Protection and why do I need it?
Whole home surge protection is surge protection that starts at your electrical panel and protects your entire home from surges. Surges can be caused by a number of factors, such as the utility or even a common house hold device such as your ac unit clicking on.
Surges cause damage to anything electrical in your home and can cause thousands of dollars in damages. Have you ever noticed a slight buzzing in the speakers of your T.V. after a storm, or the timer on your stove not working? These damages from surges can cut the life of your electronics by years. Through surgeassure™, we bring superior protection solutions and services to residential and commercial customers. Surgeassure™ protection products utilize the same technology and rugged components used in our industrial & commercial products that protect critical electronic equipment for Fortune 500 companies.
Total Zone Protection
Today’s homes are more reliant than ever on appliances and electronics that are controlled by extremely sensitive microprocessor circuits. These circuits are easily damaged or disrupted by power surges originating both inside and outside the home. SurgeAssure has developed a line of residential protection products designed to protect the electrical and electronic equipment in your home using the Total Zone Protection “staged protection” strategy which divides your home into three zones.
Main Zone: 1st stage of defense and the key to protecting your home.
Main Zone Protectors are installed at the main power panel, cable TV/satellite service and telephone service.
Interior Zone: 2nd stage of defense for sensitive electronics inside the home.
Exterior Zone: 3rd stage of defense for equipment located outside the home such as the air conditioning unit, pool pump or well pumps.

Protect Yourself From Unlicensed Contractors:
With the slowdown in construction today and the layoff of workers, we are seeing, an increased number of unlicensed contractors, handyman services, and remodeling specialists who are underbidding jobs and taking work from qualified contractors. What this means is there will be more victims of unlicensed contractors.
Property managers and homeowners please think twice about your safety and the safety of others before accepting offers from unlicensed contractors. You can learn more about Florida contractors and verify a contractors license at www.myfloridalicense.com.
Protect your investment and always Hire a Licensed Electrical Contractor. You can also rest assured when you work with Miller Electric because there is NO Doubt we are a Florida Licensed Electrical Contractor. Miller Electric ~ Quality Work Above All Else.

Work and Play the Gocher Family:
Ed Gocher loves his work, his customers and his employees. He says, "It’s all about the family!" When he’s not working, he loves spending recreation time with his wife Sue and three sons Adam, Tyler, and Shawn. Growing up alot of the boys’ time was spent playing baseball as Little League, Little League All Star, and the traveling AAU League. When baseball was in the far and few between off seasons fishing was were the family spent the rest of the time. Between fishing the local waters of the Greater Tampa Bay, Sarasota, and Bradenton area or the Florida Keys, the Gochers bring in the big catch every time.
Sue Gocher works in the office and is a staple in what keeps the company together. Sue has also spent many days donating her time in the community during Chamber of Commerce events and has been a key part of the company since day one. Sue also enjoys hitting the water just like the Gocher men and is an avid diver and loves fishing along side her boys.
Shawn graduated from college in 2006 and is now out on his own doing remarkably well. Tyler is currently learning the family business working in the field and attending an electrical apprenticeship program. Learning from our staff Tyler is becoming a quality electrician. Adam our youngest currently works in the shop after high school and during the summer. He is learning the business and how we operate inside and out. He plans to work in the office and handle day to day operations and soon be a full fledged electrician just like his father and brother.
Miller Electric’s Qualified Electrical Staff:
The company prides itself with providing quality electrical service and keeping your safety and needs a top priority. Miller Electric hires only qualified staff who have demonstrated skill and a number of years of electrical working experience. Ed Gocher advises that working with electricity is a very complex trade one that requires years of experience in the field.
